How we rate difficulty: Easy is under 10 miles with under 500 feet of published climbing. Hard is more than 2,000 feet of published climbing. Moderate is in between. Mixed levels means the land manager or trail group lists both beginner and technical trails. Motorcycle rides and routes with no published distance aren't rated.

Shops and group rides

Rent a bike, find a ride

Flying in? Two shops publish road bike rental details on their own sites: Las Vegas Cyclery in Summerlin and Trek's rental center in Blue Diamond, near Red Rock. Giant Las Vegas rents from its Henderson store. Our bike shops page has addresses, phone numbers and rental prices.

If you'd rather not ride alone, Pedal & Pour runs a relaxed Sunday Coffee Ride and a faster Friday Loop Ride from its café and shop in the southwest valley, with ride times and RSVPs on its Strava club. Giant Las Vegas runs weekend road rides at three paces and a Tuesday night mountain bike ride. The group rides page has every ride by mode, and rider stops lists cafés and bars riders use.

We don't take money from the shops we list, and we don't rank them. If something's wrong, every listing has a link to tell us.

FAQ

Quick answers

Do I need a reservation to ride a bike through Red Rock Canyon?
No. Recreation.gov says bicycles and walk-ins, e-bikes included, don’t need a timed-entry reservation. You still pay the $8 bicycle fee or show a pass. Motorcycles need a timed-entry reservation from October 1 to May 31.
Do bicycles pay to enter Lake Mead?
Yes. The NPS charges $15 per person on foot or on a bike, good for 1 to 7 days. A motorcycle pass is $20 for 7 days and covers up to two motorcycles. The park is cashless.
Is lane splitting legal in Nevada?
No. NRS 486.351 prohibits driving a motorcycle between moving or stationary vehicles in adjacent lanes. Two motorcycles may ride side by side in one lane if both riders agree.
